Overview

Protio is an offline-first protein tracker. Your data stays on your device. The only data that may leave the app is an anonymous crash report through Sentry — see below.

Data storage

Your entries, settings, favorites, and weight logs are stored locally in an embedded database on your device. They are not uploaded to our servers.

Camera

Camera access is used only for barcode scanning. Photos and videos are not stored or sent to us.

Network

Apart from anonymous crash reports (see below), the only network request is a barcode lookup through Open Food Facts, an open food database. No personal data is sent as part of that request.

Analytics and crash reports

Protio uses anonymous crash reports through Sentry so bugs can be fixed faster. No food entries, personal data, or usage tracking are included. There are no ads and no third-party analytics.

Data deletion

If you delete the app, your local data is removed with it. There is no cloud backup and no recovery.

Website

This website does not use cookies, tracking, or analytics tools. For security reasons, the hosting provider may log IP addresses and timestamps as part of standard server operation. We do not build user profiles from that data.
